thats a good question, but i bet that the connectors to the display are different and in different locations knowing apple. along with small differences in the actual shape of the screen.

Even if it was compatible, how do you expect to actually make one?

It's not a product which Apple offers, and so you'd have to open up an iPhone 11 yourself to replace the display. But you can't buy an iPhone 12 display by itself so you would have to buy an iPhone 12 anyway to take the display out of. At which point you might as well just keep the 12.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

As far as I know you can't change the screen of iphone 12, even with an iphone 12. There was an argument about that a month ago. Compatibility is strange on Apple's side

Does this mean that if you damage then screen, you're required to simply buy a whole new phone?

It means that you have to go to official repair technician. I think there will be a way around eventually but I don't think there is one yet
