1440p 144hz or 1080p 240 hz

I need a new monitor, but I don't know if I should get a 1080p 240hz or a 1440p 144hz. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I'm planning to get a RTX 3080 when it gets available. They both cost the same with g-sync, IPS and 1ms gray-to-gray.  

I hope that some of you could share some knowledge.

Unless all you do is play CS:GO competitively all day every day, 1440p 144Hz.

The difference going from 1080p to 1440p is much more noticeable (in a positive way) than going from 144Hz to 240Hz.
