Getting the most out of my PC - i9 9900K + GTX 1080

Hydra453

Hey guys,

I play VALORANT competitively and i average around 300fps on all low settings at 1024x768 resolution.

My CPU is at 5ghz, and my RAM is at 3200mhz.

I feel like I should be getting well over 300fps with those settings and my specs. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Are you still running the i5 6400? You're achieving 5ghz on it?

What's your memory speed? No monitor is going to support 300hz so, is there a reason you're striving for higher fps than your monitor can even push out?

Ah my bad. Just noticed the memory speeds as well. I'm still not convinced that setup would be pushing over 300fps even at those settings

what is your CPU/GPU utilization in game?

Not sure but i sit at 300fps easily in VALORANT on low settings. I'm running at a really low res. I just want to know if it would at all be possible to get 360fps in VALORANT consistently. When i am in a custom game i tend to get over 600fps, but in actual matches with other players its only 300.

Pull up task manager while you play and see if you're maxing out your CPU or GPU utilization. Might give you an indicator of a hardware bottleneck if you're experiencing one.
