Hi Everyone.

Hoping someone can help.

I have a Dell Wyse Mini pc with Windows 7 Embedded.

I would like to restore it to factory settings, basically like just with windows on and nothing else.

It was used in a office that now is closed down.

Does anyone know how to either format and re-install or use recovery to get back to basically the initial Windows 7 stage.

Get windows 7 embedded from microsoft -> make a bootable usb stick -> format and reinstall the system -> reinstall the drivers -> done.

However
windows 7 embedded is end of support so not a safe os to use anymore. That machine can run windows 10 32 bit so that may be the best option. Same workflow as above.

You can totally install any os on it. It's just a regular old computer. All be it a very low end weak system by todays standards. 7 isn't safe to use anymore so just use anything else. 10 is gonna work on it.

Thanks. I'm downloading Windows 10 32bit now and will test it.

Thank you everyone for the quick replies

It's not gonna work in it's current config. This unit only has 16gb of storage which is not enough to install windows 10 on it. Even when that is upgraded it's gonna be a pretty terrible media machine as I doubt netflix in 720p is gonna go well on it due to it's very bad cpu. It may just be best to sell it on and get something a little more powerful from ebay.
