The cpu does not make the graphics better, it does a small amount when it comes to getting higher resolution. Your GPU current can run 1440p 60fps. I would go with the 3600 or the 3600x

Budget (including currency): 900-1000

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Apex Legends, Destiny 2, Call of Duty, Battlefield, other modern games

Other details: I'm buying for Christmas but some parts early if they have black Friday or cyber Monday deals, I currently have most of my parts in a pc part picker list:https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Tylerwhisper/saved/#view=R7KTnQ: I was wondering if the Psu is good enough for small overclocking and if this pc would be able to run modern games well.

Great build just a few things to add:

1: DO NOT BUY THERMAL PASTE THE CPU COMES WITH PRE-APPLIED THERMAL PASTE THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH!!!

2: If you feel comfortable overclocking, go with a 3600 or a 3600x as the 3600xt is just the same CPU with higher core clocks.

3: the Seasonic S12III is not the best unit. Above all other components, you should never cheap out on the PSU. The PSU basically holds the fate of your PC in its hands. Maybe if you save some money from a CPU down-grade+ no thermal paste, you might be able to fit in a better PSU, I recommend the Corsair CX (or CXM) 650W ($85)

4: The PC you have created will be able to run almost all AAA titles at at least 60FPS if not, higher. I really would go with a better PSU though, at least 600W+at least 80 bronze is my recommendation.

tbh i don't really want to overclock too much (as i don't really understand it yet) so is the 3600xt still a good option or should i go with the 3600 or 3600x i was just a little bit confused, and also thank you for the advice about the thermal paste and psu

I would go with the 3600x, if you don't want to OC.

There are 3 SKU's for the 3600:

3600

3600x

3600xt

the only difference is the base and boost clock. If you are doing gaming, pretty much any of them are good enough. Even a little streaming. You can go with any of them, but I would advise against going with the xt model, as there are many tutorials on how to OC, and its not all that hard.

They already have the GPU (rx5700xt for $409 on Newegg)

Also, I really don't think that that memory is a good idea, you can get much nicer and higher quality memory for around the same price.

Looks great! The first upgrade that I would make is upgrading the PSU and the just adding a HDD or something, but the first upgrade should be PSU. :)

Awesome, so the current psu, the corsair cx650m is good to start like I won't have any power issues but I will definitely check into  better one for my first upgrade should I look wattage or rating

Oh! sorry, it still looks like you had the Seasonic S12III, the Corsair CX650m is enough for what you have +a few upgrades down the line such as a 3rd part CPU cooler. :)

Nope that was my fault sorry for that here is the new list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Tylerwhisper/saved/rcG8rH

I also I'm not sure if it was different in the previous but I did change the motherboard  because the other one would didn't support the ram memory so I hope the one I have put in works.

Update: I decided to add the Crucial P1 1TB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe Internal SSD to the system

The 5700xt that I have listed is $60 less than the one that you have listed. Also, OP can buy an rtx 3070, if he cn find it around msrp.

There is absolutely no problem with the memory. The DRAM chips that's used in that RAM comes from one of the three major producers. So, it's not that much of a difference according to me.

Also, the ram that you have listed is 3600mhz cl18 which is comparable to a 3200mhz cl16 kit. Having a 3600mhz ram isn't enough unless it has good timings.
