They should be plugged into the same header to insure they will borth spin at the exact same RPM. What you can always do and I recommend, you can get a y fan slitter. 

 

Something like these. Pretty cheap and handy to have.

My NH-D14 couldn't run on a splitter due to a lack of power.

 

I just connected each fan to a separate fan header and it turned out fine.
