So the extra 6 pin that's hanging off currently (you can see it bottom center of first picture), is that all I would need?

And to get an extra 8 pin, do I buy a Y splitter? Like this? --> https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16812492083?Description=8 pin y adapter&cm_re=8_pin y adapter-_-12-492-083-_-Product

You can 8+8-pin pci-e cables for the T5600:

I'm looking for some help with upgrading my GPU.  My current power supply is the stock Dell 825W with a single 8 pin connector (with an extra 6 pin connector?).  If I wanted to go to a RTX 3070 or a RX 6800 series card, I suddenly need two 8 pin connectors.  So this might be a dumb question, but is this even possible with my current power supply since it has this power distribution board?

Current Setup

CPU: Dual Intel Xeon E5-2670 0
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660S (Super)
SSD: WDC WDS500G2B0A 500GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (2018)
RAM: Hynix-00AD HMT41GR7MFR4C-PB 8x8GB
MBD: Dell Precision T5600

PSU: Dell D825EF-01

Thank you in advance and forgive me for the terrible cable management.

3070 can do fine on a single 8-pin. as its stock a 225 TGP card.

rx 6800 would like an extra 6 pin. as its a 250 TGP card.

Except they won't even boot without both 8 Pins connected. Or 3X 8 Pins for those cards.

We did some experiments over on the EVGA forums just to verify.

powerwise yes, but as mentione above there might be a sense pin for 2 8-pins even tho they are technically not needed. wattage wise 6+2 and 6 is enough
