Hi folks, just looking for some advice here.
I've currently got two separate RAM kits, both Corsair Vengeance LPX.

One is 2x8GB 2666MHz the other is 2x4GB 3000MHz.

Google isn't my best friend and I'd like to know if I can enable XMP and benefit from Dual Channel by having both kits installed on the same board (MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max)
I understand that the slowest RAM will set the speed unless I mess about in the BIOS.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Enabling XMP for that combo may not get all the RAM to play nice & may result in a boot fail.

If the aim was to increase the performance on the 2x 8GB 2666Mhz kit, a 2x 16GB (even a 2x 8GB) 3000Mhz kit would have been a better investment.

EDIT:

Are you saying that those two kits are what you have to hand, rather than a recent purchase?

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

The 2x4GB 3000MHz kit is a kit I have sitting spare. A friend upgraded his system and gifted it to me.

If it will only run at 2666MHz I'll understand, I just want to be able to use all of the RAM without causing any hiccups.
