one of my drives was reported by Intel Software that a RAID 5 drive has failing and bios even says on the MSI Z490 Gaming Plus that its failing or status error

when plugged the drive into my Ryzen 3600 Backup Gaming PC and even on the 10700k PC Crystaldiskinfo states the drive is fine

the picture below is the drive in question as intel gave me the Serial Number and pulled that drive out, should i RMA the Drive as it is still under warranty or re-plug the drive and rebuild the RAID

Note, i am not familiar enough with RAID i am the average HOME user so INTEL Raid is what I'm comfortable with as its easier to migrate the RAID to a new intel system if needed o went from an X99 System to a Z490

also if i am to return the drive should i unplug my other two drives till the new drive comes in or turn them off in BIOS

Id try rebuilding the array. Could easily be something like a bad connections.

Also make sure your backups are good.

my ryzen 3600 has an outdated backup for my 3x10TB raid 5 alot of the files are duplicates or no longer needed

ID update that backup, assume the aray will die in this process.

Any outher possibility is that the intel raid thing has a issue, the intel software raid on the board is known for issues, and a software raid in windows is normally a much better option.

only thing i don't like is the occasional verification, I'm not familiar with windows RAID enough if it verifies, and part of the reason i kept the intel raid is mentioned above went from an x99 to a Z490 if AMD supported Raid 5 i would have went AMD

what do you mean by verification? Most software raid supports partrol reads aswell. But it doesn't support checksumming, so it doesn't know if data has changed.

Software raid in windows would have worked on all of those system, and id probably switched to it if you can.

Intel RAID verifies they Raid at the worst times automatically

I think they mean patrol reads, and basically every raid system does this.

And it can't verify the integrity  of the data as it doesn't have checksumming support.

Now intel RAID states everything functioning normally, swapped Sata Cables and cleaned the Sata connections on the drive with an alcohol wipe since the case needs to be dusted just waiting for the Strix 6800XT AIO Edition before i dust, now the Raid is rebuilding will check it in a day or two when its done rebuilding

So far swapping the same cables seems to fixed the problem, might have to replace the cables as i didnt take them out just switched the order, probably could have gotten this done sooner but was backing up at the same time minus the steam library , any cheap ways of creating a new Backup Nas that total capacity equals 18.1tb or more
