So after much annoyances with PC noise and the amount of heat it pushes out into my room when gaming, I've dabbled with the idea of possibly putting my computer in a seperate room then routing the cables through the wall. The only thing I'm concerned about is cable length, so i was wondering what are some things i have to look out for? especially when it comes to things like display cables (DP and HDMI?) for things like USB however, i do have and can always buy move active usb extention cables so I'm less worried about that. Has anyone else done something similar?

I think Linus did that 1-2 years ago because of how loud his PC was. Not sure but I think I heard it in a old video.

There's at least this 4 year old segment I just happened to watch yesterday

Ohh yes i remember this, i think that thunderbolt setup was pretty pricey no? I was thinking of just routing long cables through the wall instead, but i know degregation can happen with display cables at longer lengths if I'm not mistaken

Seems to still be $250, so yeah rather expensive option. I think that HDMI can do something like 15 meters and DP a little less, but a repeater might work and be a lot cheaper.
