Ripjaws V DDR4 3200mhz Ram

Hello guys so i have recently bought Ripjaws V F4-3200 8gbx2 and i can see its not running at full speed, i have a Asus Prime B450-PLUS motherboard and i cant tell if this is the problem. Its running at 1067 Mhz and when i change it in the BIOS to 3200 the computer doesn't even start. Could someone please help me

The board isnt good for higher memory frequency. Try 2933mhz and work your way up from there.

I gave that a go in the BIOS but the computer just kept turning itself off, ive put it down to 2133Mhz and it works but still when i open up task manager and check its speed its still at 1067Mhz

That's cause it's DDR or double data rate. The 1067mhz is the effective clock times 2 = 2133mhz. What you see is correct.

 

But looking back at your posts that I didn't see earlier. The memory is 2400mhz. I didn't realize this whenI read the OP, the memory part number had F4-3200 had me assume it was 3200mhz Memory, I guessed wrong.

 

So we have to aim much lower this time around to 2400mhz or just enable XMP/DOCP.
