Hey guys,

SO... I am on the waiting list for my RTX 3080, but have been told by my supplier that it won't arrive until possibly early next year... I have always run with NVIDIA and never even considered AMD GPU's before. But, I have been told by my supplier I can switch my order to AMD and get that card sooner without being on as long of a waitlist (depending on stock).
SO. My question is. What do you think I should do? Stick to NVIDIA RTX 3080 and wait a month or 2, or go for the 6800XT? And hopefully get it on release date or a week or 2 after.

Give me as much input as you can on both cards, preference and any other information! I wanna know what is best!
Cheers guys!

hmmm, Very mixed answers! Let me give my situation as well. I will be gaming at 1440p, 144 hz, utilizing ray tracing on all the new games coming out (Tick for nvidia so far). I don't need all the fancy shadowplay and all that shit, and I finished building my computer 2 months ago and just need a gpu (tick for AMD) I don't care which is technically more powerful and gets the extra 6 fps, woopty-fuckin-do! as long as either card performs well at 1440p, 144 frames I'm sold on either (no ticks yet as no real benchmarks for amd) At this point, I've already spent the money on NVIDIA, so getting the slight refund for switching to AMD isn't a deciding factor for me. I have always been very impressed with Geforce Experience as far as driver's and driver updates, and I am unsure of what the AMD software is like. Any new suggestions based on this information is highly appreciated!

Get the RTX 3080. Not saying I don't like AMD cards, but you need to wait at least a month for stability issues to be fixed from their drivers. I'll buy AMD cards but not when they're recently new.

the 6800xt is too new, amd drivers go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

The drivers are the main issue as shown by these two posts.

I would stick with the 3080.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

Problem is some new AMD cards, even up to the RX 5500 XT, still have some issues with their drivers, to the point of crashing mid-game. Rather have a GPU that's more expensive but reliable rather than a GPU that's cheaper but (maybe) unreliable.

This is so true, take it from a person who had a 5700 series early on...

But it may be that the Radeon's this time have no early problems, it's a dice roll however.
