On release consoles

Weather_Report

Is it true that it better to wait for the next gen consoles than to just buy them on release. I was told that the on release could have bugs/glitches and that its better to wait until they're patched.

If you get it on release you can use it even if it has some glitches. If you wait until they're all fixed then you don't get to use it when it has the glitches. If there is something massively wrong with the hardware of the console they can do a recall, but software can be patched now.

New tech always comes with some teething issues, so it's down to you how you want to balance having new stuff and (maybe) having less issues. Generally speaking it's not like this stuff hasn't tried and tested before being sold to consumers, so for the most part things will work just fine.

Depends when you want it. The new consoles will likely be thin on the ground for a while though the last console that was worth getting at launch was the 60GB PS3 as it had PS2 backwards compatibility and was a Blu ray player. If you have an Xbone or PS4 there's not much reason to upgrade at all atm. No exclusives, graphics aren't tons better than the One X or PS Pro.

Dirty Windows Peasants :P ?
