i have looked thru alot of post here about ram and mobo for 5600x but most turned in to intel vs amd fights or just went off track.
im going to upgrade my 6600k to a 5600x and was wondering what Mobo and ram to pait it with.

im not sure if im going to OC since a all core OC will hurt single core performance (look at Der8auer's video)

was thinking of going with:
Mobo: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk

Ram: 3600 Mhz 16 CL kit.

Steve from gamers nexus tried 2 vs 4 stick of Ram. but it's so much more ekspressive to buy? is it worth it?

The MSI boards are experiencing a BIOS issue that is handicapping the system any time it is running the RAM above 3200 with a Ryzen 5000 series CPU installed. (Ryzen 3000 series it works just fine)

An ASRock B550 Steel Legend will get you similar features at a lower price, and no BIOS issues reported.

@BTGbullseye I asked one guy on forum and he told me that you need to flashback BIOS and that's it. Is that true, is that thing fixed or? And which RAM should I get for 5600x?

If it's with the 5000 series CPU, you can't go to any version of the BIOS that both supports the CPU, and doesn't have that issue. If you're looking for a board that supports the 5000 series CPUs out of the box, (or without first installing a 3000 series CPU to flash the BIOS) then yes you need the flashback capability.

RAM options are effectively identical between the 3000 and 5000 series CPUs. 3600 16-16-16 is generally considered the best value for performance, especially if you install 4 modules in your system. (2 modules may clock faster, but 4 modules will have better overall performance, despite the lower speeds)

@BTGbullseyeSo when I buy motherboard for 5000 series cpu I just need to update to new BIOS. Am I wrong?

Okay I'll buy some G.Skill 3600Mhz CL16. I think they are best value performance.

That is correct. The problem is if the board does not have flashback capability, then you will need a 3000 series CPU to perform the update.
