So I've had my 9008 Shine 3 for a while, and the browns are good and all, but I feel like I might want something new... I was thinking a heavier or maybe lighter switch, just to try something new and get some variety.

I was thinking of the Corsair RGB, but I dont know what switch I should get, or if there is something else out now.

Browns.

well blues have a nice sound to them and they are kind of like browns but louder and maybe a little more tactile but if you want a liter switch would be red but those are not tactile and if you want just a bit heaver go with blues the RGB keyboard is only coming in blue, red, and brown

I think I might go Blues. I'll have to get some O-Rings, I cant stand Blue's clickyness.

They'll click with O-Rings on, too, I'm pretty sure.

Browns and blues should theoretically almost be identical, browns have a lighter actuation than blues, and they are more quiet. I like my browns, but I'm ready for something new.

I know they will, but it will be more of a quiet click.

I'm in the same boat, got browns for my first, got a new keyboard with blues because I wanted something heavier. I'm loving the sound and feel so far, and I don't really bottom out anymore with all the practice I've had with my first.

I'll be honest, the difference is noticeable and I don't regret it at all but I just miiiiiight get a cooler master with a cherry mx greens, just to go even heavier. Hopefully I'll get a way to try them before getting a $100 tenkeyless.

Comparing Blues to Browns, the weight difference isn't really noticed, but the Blues are a little more tactile. Why don't you get a Coolermaster switch tester or go to an electronic store that has MKBs on display? Just buying a board with random switches isn't going to net the best results.

Yeah, not going to happen. The only thing that o-rings do is make the bottoming out noise less loud. The click sounds exactly the same with or without o-rings.

as above, the O-Rings do not supress the blue's clicky sound.

the O-rings dampen the Thump caused when buttoming out the keys, which is helpful if you type heavy handedly and have the type of keyboard where the switches are mounted to metal rather than the pcb (??)

i bought a set of blue o-rings from WASD. i didnt like the feel as it made the keys feel mushy. in hindsight i shouldbe bought the firmer type - Red rings i think?

i ended up removing the o-rings but left them on the largers keys.
