Hello, I have an MSI B460 tomahawk motherboard and I am trying to put some cables in place but I cannot for the life of it find where I need to put them.

Motherboard and cables I want to connect in attachments.

I would really appreciate if you could tell me where all this went or edited the photo in paint or something with where I should put them.

I also have a hub (photo in attachment)

Protip:

change image sizes by double clicking the image while you're making the post. That way, you can have much smaller images.

This goes into a fan header

RGB header. I don't remember where those are on this specific board but that can also be found in the motherboard manual.

looks like a fan hub, or an RGB hub. Plug either fans or RGB strips into it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I'll use to give extra answers. The one above this could be ARGB header for Gigabyte mobos. These two are for fans, but I would need to know what's in the other end to say for sure (as in what case).

Standard ARGB 5V 3pin cable. These cannot be mixed with 4pin ones. Things will go boom.

Most likely combined. Again, depending on what case.

The connector that is 'for fans' is one that comes out of an AIO cooler (Corsair H100i and they plug in the fans of the AIO I assume)

Yes, using that you would also use Corsair ICUE to control them all.

Can't find manual online, so you are on your own mainly.

But where do I plug it in?

The manual doesn't say

I can't download mobo manual for some reason either. But specs do say it has 2x Rainbow headers. It will be mentioned in mobo manual. Probably on the bottom edge.

I found out where I need to plug those in.

The case doesn't have a manual that's why :)

I still don't get where I should plug in this cable:

Same place as the fans. 4 pin headers on the motherboard with the plastic thing sticking up next to them.

So then can it go in any orientation?

No, see the plastic protrusions on the header? You can only put it on one way. The plastic thing sticking up from the motherboard goes in between those plastic protrusions. It'll fit on like a normal fan plug, though

Thanks.

I really do need to remember you need to apply some force to the connectors.

This is my first build as you can clearly see 🤣

We all had our first time, after all.

I wish I knew about LTT back then though.
