Hi guys, i want to reinstall windows on my ssd crucial bx500, i used to have a samsung ssd and it was really easy to erase all data due to samsung magicial, but crucial doesnt seem to have a "secure erase" tool. Should i just install windows normally like i used to do with my old HDD? just following windows installer steps and format my ssd?

thanks!

No need to secure erase if you're using it for yourself.

Just delete and reformat in windows installation.

It's not like you need to overthink about formatting a drive in your own computer. Something like that can only come in handy if you are selling/giving out your old drives, which one could advocate against in the first place.

i thought formating an ssd was bad for the drive, i think i read something like that like 10 years ago when i bought my old ssd

That can't be right regardless of when you have read it, because if you couldn't format the drive you couldn't use it at all.

You're probably confusing formatting with defragging, which is something you still shouldn't do with SSD's because it's pointless and just wears them out for nothing. You generally can't, so it won't happen by accident anyways.
