Can't unlock taskbar???

I reset my PC while also upgrading to Windows 10 Home version. I used to be able to slide the taskbar icons left and right and now I don't any option to do so. I have tried multiple options from google research and none of them work. Other options involved downloading sketchy softwar to fix the issue...

I’m not sure what you mean by slide taskbar icons so I’m not sure I can even answer.  To my knowledge neither 8.1 nor 10 did this which makes me suspect I don’t understand what you mean.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

right click on the taskbar used to allow me to unlock it, allowing me to move the position of the pinned icons towards the center of the bar. As shown in the screenshot, there would be two clickable vertical bars next to the chrome icon that you can click and drag all the icons across the bar? does any of this make sense lol

Not to me but it might to someone else.  Lots of people read posts here.
