Hi everyone! so I'm busy trying to convert friends from console to PC. Going to build this for a friend, he has a max of 375 right now

looking not for great performance, but playable. he would rather save money then turn up the graphics. he just wants games to run. Im shooting for 720P 30 fps low settings.

the 5 minute rough guess part list i came up with in class. I have a extra case I will give him. Just want something adequate.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/37XyJ

He will be throwing in a GPU later. hes 16 so needs to spread out the cost. Maybe something that will run in the amd crossfire graphics with my HD 7770? I could sell that to him later. I dont know the most about AMD proccessors. just know they are better for budget builds.

thanks for any input!

He wants to game, Ill recommend him some older games until he gets the card.

would it be better go to with a I3, or go for a APU with a graphics card in crossfire later? remember hes only going to have a 100ish dollar limit on the gpu. so thats why im thinking of selling him my HD 7770

I took out everything I could within reason to fit a 750ti. This will give him amazing performance for the money. I suggest he gets another stick of RAM and upgrades his drive as soon as he gets some more money, but for now it's hard to beat this:

CPU:  AMD Athlon X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($79.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-DS2 Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard  ($37.99 @ Newegg)
Memory:  Patriot Viper 3 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($30.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card:  MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card  ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Case:  NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply:  Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $378.88

would the 750TI be bottle necked at all by that CPU? if not, this would be a great build. I already have a case for him, so the extra 30 bucks could get him a 1TB storage instead.

No, not at all. The 750ti can run very well with that CPU. Seeing as you already have a case you could get some decent storage as you said. Also next time he has ~30$ make sure he gets another 4gb of RAM. Otherwise it's actually a pretty sweet build.

My pleasure, yeah it's for sure a console killer now that I think about it! It can comfortably play games at 1080p at med-high with completely decent FPS aaaaaaand it's a PC :D
