Earlier this month a bought a MSI GForce GT 710 and installed it on my computer. I found out after booting it up, that the front panel audio wasn't working. I installed and uninstalled and reintalled the drive and got it to work with and audio jack through my moniter, but not throught the front or back panel audio. It wont show up in device maneger or any thing. I beleive upgrading to windows 10 could fix it because of the better settings, but i dont have the funds. If anybody could help it would be greatly apriciated

What version of Windows are you running? if you're on 7 or 8, the upgrade to Windows 10 is still free and a tutorial can be found here.

If both front and back audio aren't working you could try unplugging the front audio connector from the motherboard and see if the back audio works. Maybe there is a short somewhere.

Sorry I probably edited my post. Refresh plz. Build Specs Below.

If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like you're using HDMI audio which would explain why your front panel audio doesn't work. Front panel runs off of your motherboard or dedicated sound card. The audio from your monitor would be coming from your GT 710 via HDMI.

So for me, I would have to switch my default device back to the Speakers (Conexant SmartAudio HD) for the headphone jack on my laptop to output any sound. If I have it on Intel(R) Display Audio, it would be sending the audio signal via HDMI to my monitor which my speakers are connected to.

The same thing happens with my desktop but it's not on at the moment so this is closest example I can give.

the problem is alll that shows up is the hdmi audio even with disabled devices shown

Open Device Manager and see if you can see your onboard audio device. It should be either a Conexant or Realtek device if it's onboard audio. Your respective manufacturer if it's an add-in sound card.

its not there

Then you need to install the Audio Driver for your motherboard. Go into Windows update, select Optional Updates and see if it had picked it up. Or better yet, go to the support page for your motherboard on the manufacturer's website and download the driver. Are you aware of the make and model of your board?
