Will this USB cable work to power this small LCD screen that's normaly used for raspberry pi?

Looking to add a small LCD screen to make a sensor panel like shown in this vid.

 

Already set on the HDMI cable choice, but he doesn't get into how he's powering it. I have free internal USB 2.0 ports on a NZXT USB hub. Or does it need to be a full USB 2.0 header to mini USB? I have zero experience with raspberry pi screens or half USB 2.0 with only 5 pin cables, so I don't want to waste money and time on something that won't work. Or if you have better cable recommendations, preferably right angle ones, I'd appreciate a link. Thanks
