Ok, this is insanely odd.

I have this USB-C DAC that I bought for my Galaxy Tab. When I hooked it up to my Mac, it works. But when I hooked it up to my regular laptop, it doesn't.

Now normally I would look for drivers. But the device is not registering.

I booted up to Ubuntu to see if it had the same issue. Yes, it is the same way. It works under macOS but the system does not see it on my laptop. I tried hooking it up to a Surface tablet. Same thing.

I have it hooked up right now and ran a lsub to show me the devices

It's not in that list whatsoever. I don't have my Mac handy so I cannot give you a list of the USB connections for that. But macOS saw it as a Realtek USB audio DAC. The only thing I can figure is that there is something in the device firmware that is not allowing it to work with certain hardware.

The device I am using is a Neezukar. No model is listed so I will just post the link from Amazon.
