£600 PC Setup

ande-

Budget (including currency): £600

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GTA V, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am looking at a £600 PC setup for my friend. I play on PC and they play on PlayStation at the moment but they really want to get into pc gaming. They have around £600 UK to spend and need a PC, Monitor, keyboard and mouse. What would you guys recommend for that budget?

Total here is 622. I would recommend waiting for the Ryzen 5000 full release so you can either get the new lowest-end chip (equivalent to the 3100) or the 2600/3600 will become cheaper. I went with a 2600 because I think for the extra £30 or so over the 3100 you get 2 more cores. The monitor, keyboard, and mouse are all super-barebones so they can either be upgraded in the future or swapped for something a bit nicer (potentially downgrade the CPU to a 3100 instead to save some £, then upgrade to Ryzen 5000 in a couple years if needed). RAM is pretty cheap so I went for a 3600MHz 16gb kit.
