2nd Hand Graphics Cards

Varney0

Hey everyone, looking to upgrade my PC at the moment and was set on a 1660 or RTX 2060 but while browsing noticed second hand rtx 2070's on ebay, does anyone have much experience with buying parts second hand? I'm stuck between the 2 as I could spend the same amount as a rtx 2060 and get a much more powerful 2070 but yet second hand, is it risky buying second hand or better off buying brand new and stick with the RTX 2060? Thanks

Ebay has built in consumer safeguards, you're fine buying there.

READ THE FUCKING FINE PRINT THO!!!!

Lots of bullshit these days, like people selling"paper GPU's" which is a picture of a GPU on a piece of paper, etc.  Make sure you know exactly what you're buying.

That said, if it doesn't work when you get it, file a complaint with Ebay, done deal.

If you wan to link one of them here, we can take a look at it for you as well.

How else do you pay for Ebay stuff?  Or am I so old I just did paypal when it was the only option?

Debit, credit, sometimes one of those weird cards you buy in a store,... but really paypal should be the only option. The moment a seller does not allow paypal as a method it's basically 100% of the time a scam.

I've always used PayPal to be safe, and thankfully it's only come in handy once.

Cheers, feel a bit more comfortable about ordering now, although the 2060 is currently on sale on amazon... but if I see any deals on eBay in the coming weeks ill post back here if I'm sceptical, thanks again

The sales on the 2060 are very very little (the price got jacked up before the sale so it looks better).

hmm, see I've decided to upgrade my PC instead of moving to PS5 I was going for a Ryzen 5 3600 and a RTX 2060 16gb Ramm etc etc, would you recommend getting a different GPU?..I'll see what AMD come out with tomorrow with their new GPU's though

Whats your current specs? If the pc is still good enough it might be the smartest to just wait a bit longer for the new cards to come out.

My current PC is like 6 years old lol, most of my gaming is done on my PS4 apart from CSGO etc, I currently have 16gb ram, gtx 960, i5 6500, the release of the new graphics cards I feel will leave a lot of old gen on sale around black Friday, I'm not in much of a rush to get my parts

New cards doesn't mean older cards will get cheaper. Retailers much prefer to keep them at the same price. Used would be the right way to go as there will be more and more cards coming out.

Ryzen however does drop in price after the new series comes out (which is in 8 days).
