I have an online friend whom I helped build his pc a few weeks ago, but when we got it booted up and running his 3200 memory was only running at 2133, and when I had him enable xmp it ran at the rated speed but he would crash in games so we un enabled it and it hasn't been messed with since. Any way to get it to run at rated speeds without crashes?

SPECS?!!

As ive heard zen2 and earlier have troubles getting above 3000Mhz.
Also heard that it depends very much on motherboard.

So no specs no help!

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

yes ofc, 1650 super gigabyte ds3h mobo and a 3600 cpu, 16gb 2x8 3200 ram

Ok so the motherboard definitely should support 3200Mhz. But i can be the CPU not willing to go to the 3200Mhz. If thats the case maybe try 3000Mhz.
So either the ram is of low quality that it doesnt do what its advertised or maybe you need to up the voltage a bit. (at most 0,2V imo).

what happens when you try to run at something like 300 or 2933?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

havent tried running anything other than generic xmp profile

most boards offer multiple XMP profiles and if you can enable XMP and manually set the speed you might get a different result

I had him run it at 3000 mhz manually and it was fine for a bit but then he started bluescreening

Might want to bump the voltage a tiny bit

Make sure the RAM is in the correct DIMM slots. For instance A2, B2. I just built a computer for a friend using the ASUS TUF X570, Ryzen 3600 and 16GB G.Skill 3600MHz RAM and I couldn't get the system to boot with DOCP enabled when the RAM was in the A1, B1 slots. Consulted the manual and turns out it should be in A2, B2 on that mobo. Once I installed the RAM in the correct slots it booted right up.
