It's not really "brand new" so much as new in box, still an FM2+ CPU and the i5 is way faster.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

so an i5 is the better choice

i think it depends. witch is faster for games probly the i5 but you cant have a pc with just the cpu you also need the rest so you would have to brake it down to performance per dollar. if both can play the game at your recommend setting then i would think it would come down to performance per dollar but that's imo but you may not just have a pc for 1 game so there are other factors in there.

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx

also i edit post alot because you no why...

OP said they were the same price which just makes the i5 better in every way, better performance and better performance per dollar

The only difference is the motherboard and LGA 1155 boards are cheap and plentiful. They can use the same ram, same PSU, same case, same storage, the price is the same. Building a full PC is the same cost so what point are you trying to make?

Also those old A series APUs are just junk so even if there was a system with a "better value" it's not even worth buying if it has an FM2+ motherboard.

the point was it was a guess on what he was asking. im not hear to argue.

we don't no what game, programs, if the pc is on an buy and sell locally or hes buying online. also we don't no where he lives that can thow a wrench in things.  things might cots more were he lives.

when i got pcs to sell other said just buy a used gen 1 ryzen but to this day i just don't even see them for sale... anywhere. some pc parts just don't drop in price no mater how old or slow it is. the 6600k still $200. but because its the first overclocked cpu with 4 cores on that platform and is the cheapest  the price stays high.
