Budget (including currency):  250-320 euros (ofcourse the cheaper the better)

Country: Estonia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Triple A gaming, light programming from time to time (HTML, CSS, Js)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Ryzen 3 2200g, rx 570 8gb armor, b450m pro4, 2x8 ddr4 3200mhz (currently running at 2133 because i did not check the qvl...),  wd 250gb ssd, 1tb hdd, be quiet! - Pure Power 11 CM 500 W 80+gold psu. Got 144 hz mag241c and some random other peripherals.

Looking to upgrade, wanna run slightly higher fps in modern games (f.e CoD warzone or GTA V/RDR2).
I have scoured around just a tad bit and thought of buying gtx 1660 super but i need to upgrade my cpu for that too?

What do you think? What would be the most optimal way to upgrade and future proof a little bit?

Get your ram fixed first that is tanking your performance.

After that well getting a better gpu now is kinda crap cuz no stock so wait there, But even if you get a better gpu higher framerates will be mostly held back by your cpu and it's lack of cores.

So basically you'd need a cpu and gpu upgrade but only have the budget for one. That and new ryzen cpu's are launching and the new gpu's are not in stock or yet to launch so used would be your best bet after amd throws their stuff on the market and that goes out of stock on day one.

But for now I'd just say wait a month or so to see what all the new stuff brings to the market.

Thank you for the reply! Appreciate it!

I see people recommending crucial and g.skill ddr4 3200mhz everywhere for b450m pro4 boards with ryzen 3 2200g but i cant find them on the qvl list. Will i still be able to get atleast 2993mhz with those recommendations? (For example gamingspice.com)

If i could get both a cpu (ryzen 5 1500AF) and gpu (gtx 1660super or rtx 2060) for that price range would it make any sense? Or really is it more sensible to wait?

Appreciate the time and answers.

The 1500af doesn't exist did you mean the 1600af? It is more sensible to wait really. What you can do now is play the game and see which part is maxing out the most. If it's the cpu upgrade that first (wait for new ryzen however) if it's the gpu then just wait as now is pretty bad time for gpu buying.

Also in terms of ram are you on the latest bios? Ram compatibility got a lot better later on.

Ah yes, sorry, 1600af.
Okay, all the info accepted, thank you very much! Gives me then time to save up some more to buy better things.

Mm my bios version right now is p3.30, the newest i can acquire (according to https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M Pro4/index.asp#BIOS) is p3.50 since the newer ones says that it does not recommend to upgrade if Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU is being used on your system.
