ram suggestion

i have a omen 15 amd version 
it initially came with 8 gb 3200mhz ram
i want to upgrade it  
i saw a deal 2*16 2666mhz ram 
prize lower than single 16 gb 3200mhz ram 
can i go for the 2666 or should i have to stick with 3200

Do you need 32gb of ram? If not I would suggest getting another 8gb 3200mhz stick and running that in dual channel.

If there is an open slot you can.
Just know if you get RAM thats not specificly on the QVD list it might not reach its intended speeds.

(As most notebooks have no option to turn on XMP)

i am a programmer . i needed it for some . i got a deal for 2666 
not for 3200 though . is it fine to use . where it initially come with 3200

If the RAM is not on the QVD list for that specific notebook it will only work on 2166MHz (if im not mistaken about that number).
