External monitor 144hz with MSI GV62 7RD

I have an MSI GV62 7RD laptop. The IO includes a mini DP and an HDMI. I have an ACER Nitro VG271USBMIIPX that can (supposedly) run at 175Hz. Is there any hope of getting 120Hz@1440p or even 120Hz@1080p? I have the display hooked up to the HDMI port that (again supposedly) is a 1.4.
