Hey,

I'm currently planning on buying a new PC, mainly for gaming, I would appreciate your guys opinion on the parts.

I'm basically looking for a build that can run any new singleplayer games that come out with about 100+ FPS and for the highest possible FPS in multiplayer games like CS, League, Apex Legends, Warzone and etc.

Some parts I picked purely because of esthetics - would like to know if you guys have any other suggestions for parts that might give better performance.

CPU - Ryzen 7 5800X

CPU Cooling -  NZXT Kraken X63

Motherboard - MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK

RAM - G.SKILL TridentZ DDR4 4000MHz CL15

HDD - Seagate Barracuda Compute 3 TB 5400RPM (Unsure)

SSD - Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2 NVME | Corsair Force MP600

GPU - MSI GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB GAMING X TRIO

Case - NZXT H510 Elite

PSU - NZXT E 850W 80+ Gold

Extra Fans - NZXT Aer RGB 120 mm & NZXT Aer RGB 140 mm (Planned on switching the rear and top fans with RGB fans purely for looks, haven't checked if other fans might actually give better cooling)

(pcpartpicker link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/McPFt8 - Parts are not accurate, such as the RAM, HDD and the CPU is a placeholder)

I've heard that there are rumors or something that the recommended RAM speed for the new Ryzen 5000 series is 4000MHz, I'm guessing that for now there is not really a way to know for sure, at least not yet. - That's what I picked for now.

Also, I'm not entirely sure about the SSD, whether to get the 970 EVO Plus or to get a PCIe4 SSD - the Corsair Force MP600, from what I've checked it doesn't seem to show much difference except writing speeds.

I'm not sure about the HDD - if it even makes a difference.

I know that there is no information about the new AMD CPU's at this point, but I would like to know from personal experience if there is much difference between 6 and 8 cores when it comes to multitasking with programs.

(I'm talking about something like Chrome with 20 open tabs, Spotify, Discord, an open launcher like Steam and lets say a light running game such as League or CS)

Just to clarify, I have a 144hz monitor, planning on getting a 240hz or the new 360hz (don't really care for higher resolution than 1080p for now) and I don't need an OS of any kind.

Thank you in advance and have a wonderful rest of the day.

Good build, but I would suggest going for at least a 7200 rpm HDD and the case isn't the best for airflow. Maybe try finding one that has a mesh front panel. You can get some suggestions on Gamers Nexus' channel for high performing cases.

Edit: For a gaming PC, I would say a PCIe Gen 4 SSD really isn't worth the money. You won't feel any noticeable difference. As for the 6 vs. 8 core, for this PC since you're already spending $1500 on it, why not future-proof it and go with 8 cores?

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.
