I am currently using most of the parts of my brother's old gaming computer (still works great for the games I play), and am using a 500 GB Samsung sata SSD. I just yesterday bought an additional 1 TB sata SSD (860 EVO), and a 500 GB M.2 NVME SSD (970 EVO) on sale so I won't have to buy storage for years as long as I don't play CoD.

I'm sure that this info exists somewhere, but how do I transfer my operating system to my M.2 drive once I install it.

Note: motherboard has a compatible slot, and my windows license is linked to my Microsoft account

I wouldn't clone drives unless you absolutely have to. Doing a clean install occasionally is good anyway.
