How can I change the resolution of my monitor in Virtual Box?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong subsection.

I've been playing around with Oracle Virtual Box for the past weeks

I am using a 1080p display but the OSs only give the options for mostly 16:6 and 4:3 resolutions.

the virtual Box Program itself has an option for changing the resolution of the virtual display but I can't change it:
