I'm having an issue with my first build. My specs are the following. Asus prime b450m-a, ryzen 7 2700x, gigabyte gtx 1060, 1tb ssd, 1tb hdd. I dont have ram yet but i went to do a test start and noticed the graphics card was spinning for a brief second then stop and had no display. Everything was hooked up except for not having ram yet. Any ideas on this issue? The graphics card was given to me by a coworker who claimed it works.

If you don't have ram, you won't be able to post into the bios. The most you would be able is to hear the beeps from your motherboard if it has it a speaker.

No ram = no work

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

So no ram would be why i have no post and the gpu to not keep spinning? Like i said im new to this.

Yeah, without ram your computer turns on, attempts to boot, then turns off instantly. Hence sending power to the gpu for a short amount of time making the fans come on, then having to turn off because of no ram, so the fans stop spinning. Throw some ram in the bad boy and you should be good to go. 1060's are known to be pretty reliable cards. If the fans are spinning I am sure it is working.
