Quick gpu questions

If I plug two separate gpus in one motherboard, no sli or nvlink, will there be any trouble?

depends on what GPU's you're running.

 

usually the answer is no tough. I'm running a 2080Ti and a regular 2080 in my server as we speak.

Depends. If they are from the same gpu maker (nvidia or amd) and run on the same driverversion then no problem. Of course this is not going to help you in games in any way if that is what you are aiming for.

definitely works fine aswell, tough keep in mind that most consumer programs like games won't use both GPU's without some kind of interconnect like SLI.

thanks, i wanted to know because my gpu can't handle both monitors by itself

How so? Adding a extra monitor to your gpu is basically no extra load what so ever.

Sli is dead dead even in older games where it worked it's now breaking due to the abandonment from nvidia.

what ancient hardware are you running that cannot handle 2 monitors?

It's not even gonna notice the impact of a secondary monitor. Adding a secondary monitor had some impact on performance around 20 years ago but nowadays there's just basically nothing (0.1fps lost maybe if even). Also weren't you getting a 3090?

What about 3, and these are all future plans so i'm just getting ready so that I don't go through any hassle

Yeah it's gonna work just fine. If this is for your vr racing setup then I do recommend a vr headset over triple screen. It's a more immersive experience and also cheaper (depending on the headset of course).
