I'm modding a console (aka mounting a LED strip in it) I have some left over but would that work how would I change colours or would it not be possible if so is there a way to make it possible or will I have to buy a LED strip with receiver built in

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help

doubt you can find a RGB header in there, so you'll need one with receiver, yes

Aww okay but the only one I know actually is usb would that make the process easier? I could just route the USB to the back of the console instead of soldering inside it

eeh, most RGB strips come with a small box with IR receiver and a remote to control the RGB

cant you find and use one of those?

they also use 12V power too, should be able to source it, or add a hole and put a barrel plug there for 12v adapters

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Well the IR receivers they sell at my area would require 3 different products to make a leftover RGB strip work and thus making it cheaper to buy a new one with usb

I'd recommend the lt100 from corsair connect it to a pc and control it and it has light diffusion (so no hotspots)

I'd recommend reading the post

I know your modding a console but you can connect it to a pc and stick it to the console

It's not like I will have a PC next to the console + the item you mentioned is a lightning tower it will like not fit at all
