psu upgrade needed

well i have a big dillema cause i have the hp z230 sff it a 7 year old beast but it has a 240 watt psu but i want to put a bigger graphics card in in and realy dont want to use the 1650 or the 1050ti and i also need something that fits in the case anyone now something?

Look for something that is 400-500 watts and has an 80+ rating.

not helpful for when looking for a good/decent PSU.

might want to consider running on an open air test bench, just for the sake of having room for components. a case isnt entirely neccesary

80+ rating doesnt tell you anything usefull other than it being able to hit some efficiency criteria........

 

wattage also not that helpful, given one wants a quality PSU before wattage. 

 

ideally he wants a DC-DC or Dual Mag Amp topology PSU, but that usually involves looking at reviews. As few companies specify what they are using. 

 

@ltt nerd depends a bit on how much you are spending aswell, and where you are spending it. hard to point to anything specific without that.
