There a lot of thread about 5.1 headset, I'm sure if you have a look at them you you can find out which to buy.

Are you looking for headphones (without mic) or a headset (with mic)?

(Not hating or anything).

Why do you want surround? physical surround in headphones sounds like ass, and virtual does too. I'd recommend just getting stereo headphones, the separation between the drivers wouldn't be as good as a speaker surround setup, really.

In all technicality, open would be better for gaming, but if you don't like open headphones, its cool.
Most average studio monitors will get you a wide enough soundstage as to not suck for gaming, so I am going to recommend 7506/V6's as they are cheap/universally available and you haven't identified a budget or country.

who is the manufacturer? of the DT770M

That would be Beyerdynamic. You should go for real headphones instead of 5.1 headsets because 5.1 trashes the audio quality of the headphones. The DT770M is a solid choice but it's not 5.1 if you have to have it. Turing on headphone mode in your games would be a better option.

I have the non M beyerdynamic DT770 and they are amazing. They will probably be my main headphones for years to come. I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon. Above that is when the law of diminishing returns hits really hard on headphones.

No the cups are quite big. They are much larger than the Sennheiser design.
