So i've been thinking of upgrading my ram on my laptop but turns out I have two sticks but only the other one is removable. i overall have 8 gb of ram and i plan on replacing the other slot with a 16gb one. anyone think this is a good idea? i also have little to no knowledge regarding this so any tips would be a huge help.

i have attached below my ram details.

i have an asus vivobook x512

The laptop maxes out to 16GB according to ASUS, so using a 16GB module would be worthless.

lol i didnt even know that, good thing i asked lol. thanks!

Since it appears that you have both slots already populated(re-reading the post, including Task Manager), it looks like your laptop actually maxes out at 12GB.
