Windows install seemingliy disappeared

So last night I decided to move my Windows install from my 2.5in SSD to my new m.2. So I cloned my install and it seemed like everything was going fine. Then I decided that I wanted to make a small Ubuntu partition on the old SSD to mess around with if I wanted since I've never really done anything with Linux. So I went and did that and no apparently I can't boot Windows from the m.2 anymore. The drive is recognized in my BIOS and boot menu, but it just hangs at this screen and doesn't do anything. I even left it overnight to see if it was just being slow for some reason. Has anyone ever run into this?

That, unfortunately, wasn't the issue. That would have been nice and simple.

So I ended up just giving up and reinstalling Windows to the 2.5 drive because the windows installer gave me grief over doing it to the m.2. For future reference, since I'd still like to move over to the m.2 in the future, how do I do this the right way in the future?
