Hey,

for the last few years I'Ve been using CreateSynchronicity, an opensource backup program. the nifty thing about it is that you make a profile, give it the folders you want to back up and the destination, the type of backup (e.g. mirroring to the external hdd) and then to backup, you just preview the file list it wants to backup and then you let it do it's thing. extremely small program, extremely simple. It's more or less automated file copy and deleting.

Problem is, its last update was pre Win10. And for me it still works, but I wanted to get to run on my girlfriends new laptop (lenovo e14 with r5 4700u if that matters somehow) and I don't get it to run. The program needs .net framework 2.0 or higher, which it did want to install on the first startup and I did, even made sure to reboot several times and it still doesn't open. The symbol in the task bar appears, but nothing else. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

On the other hand, does anybody know a program that's equally simple and does more or less the same?

FreeCommander is not what I'm looking for, not as user friendly and more ways to mess up for someone not too tech savy.

thanks for any hints in advance!
