i7 10700F vs i5 10600K vs Ryzen 5 3600

Hey, looking at buying a i7 10700F, i5 10600K or Ryzen 5 3600. Not sure what the best one would be to play games like Fortnite with a GTX 1070. Got a i5 4690K so want to get a newer and better one. Like the i7 10700F because of the cores and threads, like the i5 10600K because not to expensive, and like the Ryzen 5 3600 because it seems like you get a lot of performance for the price. Pretty much wanting to know if the i7 10700F is a good CPU for gaming or not.? Fortnite doesn't render fast when load in, land and have to go into settings to change the shadows and stuff, want it to render fast.Thanks.

If you're mainly gaming, the 10600k is more than enough as games do not scale up to 8 cores right now.

And the 10600k is better than the 3600 when it comes to gaming, though you could wait for zen 3 to actually come out and to check how it performs first against comet lake and against zen 2.

The current i5s are very good in gaming workloads. That said AMD had its big anouncement yesterday for their new Ryzen 5000 chips that launch in early november. They might be a lot better than the current i5. I would wait for those to launch and then read some reviews.

If you want to upgrade now and you use all threads, the i7 10700F would be better. If just gaming, the i5 10600k or Ryzen 5 3600 will do just fine. If you can wait though, Zen 3 is launching November 5th with the new Ryzen 5000 series cpu's. I would suggest waiting just a few weeks and see how they perform. They already show a lead in gaming with the 5950x compared to the i9 10900k (same core count, same thread count) so they will be pretty impressive.
