Hey guys, about 6 years ago on here I was recommended the HD 558 and I've gotten a ton of use out of them.  I'm very thankful I was convinced to go with open back headphones, but it is about time to replace them, as I've never even replaced the pads.  I am between the Beyer 300r TYGRs and the HD 560S, although I am leaning toward the Beyers for the soundstage that I've come to appreciate with open backs.  My only concern with the Beyers is that I've heard they can be fatiguing to use, and I am going to be using these headphones a lot - is there anybody who owns them that can comment on this? Also how comfortable are they with the round earcups?

I am going to be using these headphones for everything: music, gaming (already have a modmic), and a lot of youtube.

They are really comfortable and light headphones. If they clamp too much you can just stretch them out a bit. Also the sound signature is V shaped. More bass and more treble. Although the treble is sometimes peaky but it can be EQed if you don't like that. The bass is there and will definitely give a punch. But not overpower since they are open back. For gaming and music their soundstage is amazing. Same with the imaging. The imaging is really good on beyers headphones. The sound is just "clear" on them.

PM/DM me if you have any questions about audio.

Are you suggesting that I should go with the HD560S instead? Do we even expect that they will become widely available for purchase within the next month?

It depends on which Beyers are fatiguing. If DT990, then yes, or other DT series but the Amirons are not fatiguing but they are in a higher price points.

I have the HD560S and I like it. If for gaming and movies, they are great and other owners have stated that too.

On the day of delively and listening it right out of the box may sound a bit less pleasant but you have to give it some time to get used it and you'll probably like it more.

The TYGR is also popular one but never tried it so can't tell anything about it.

Have you heard many of the other HD500 series headphones? Do you think it will sound much better than my HD558? Also out of curiosity how did you even buy the HD560S? Preorder?

The only one Sennheiser I own so far is de HD560S. Although there were other HDx..x recommended from Massdrop but I'd be paying more because of shipping and customs. I indeed preordered it on Sep 28 and it got delivered Oct 1 or 2 lol. Didn't expected it to be delivered that fast. I even got the promo code for €20 off, so in total just €179. And oh, I got it from Sennheiser their official webstore.

So far I like it, bass is not overpowered, more like fast and snappy, well controlled and tiny details are revealed too and treble is well done too.
