Hello guys,

I am planning to switch current gpu to rtx 2060 super or 2070 super from my 5700xt. I really don't feel the vibe of the AMD gpu's. Since I am giving the 5700xt to my sister I am not quite sure on what to upgrade with her rig.

Current specs:

Intel i5 6600

Gigabyte Z170xp SLI

GTX 1050ti

8GB RAM - will upgrade to 8x2GB RAM.

650w PSU - Enough with current specs and 5700xt.

SSD and HDD

Should I just sell the whole rig and buy a Ryzen 5 3100 with b450 mobo and just recycle the ssd, hdd, psu and ram?

Any thoughts will be much appreciated.

Thank you

What do you mean with vibe? Performance issues?

A good starting point would indeed be ryzen. However now it's time to first wait. Ryzen 5000 is launching soon + rtx 3070 and big navi from amd. All great offerings making the previous stuff irrelevant.

I am not satisfied with the 5700xt so many problems encountered, game suddenly crash, greenscreens, random restart but doesn't happen often. I updated windows, driver and did troubleshoot but still happening. I'm fed up with it.

okay, will consider to wait for the ryzen 5000 rtx 30 series is not yet available on my country.

Probably a 6700k or 7700k both bad value cpu's as they go for more than new cpu's that beat them. The problem with your sisters pc is that it is stuck with a max of 4c/8t cpu's and people are really keeping the prices high of those. Not worth getting one what so ever for higher than a price of a better new i3 or ryzen 3100.

Yes that's a good starting point. Although B550 is better for future upgrades.

With it you may broaden your options to have more powerful cpu in the future.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w
