Budget (including currency): $300 USD (or Rp 4,400,000 Indonesian Rupiahs)

Country: Indonesia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly Gaming and Streaming.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Current build:

  • i5-4460 with a DeepCool Alta Cooler (pretty much stock)
  • GTX 1060 3GB
  • Gigabyte G1 Sniper B5
  • 4x4 DDR3 RAM Dual Channel at 1600Mhz
  • 1x 1TB HDD
  • 2x 120GB and 128GB SSD
  • Seasonic S12-iii 500W PSU Bronze 80+
  • Cheap Chinese Case

I have around $300 to get a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Right now I'm currently eyeing on a Ryzen 5 2600, GALAX B450M, and 2x Team Dark Z Alpha 3200Mhz 8GB sticks (2x8).

Is there a better set of processors, RAM, and CPU out there or perhaps a cheaper one? And I'm just making sure that it's available cause almost everything is out of stock here, lol.

Also, would this be capable of streaming 1080p60 or 1080p30? Games I will stream are Rainbow Six Siege, Apex Legends, and probably some more lighter games. (Also note that I have a 144hz, so getting more would be better, but not my priority).

Wow haven't seen a Galax motherboard in action for quite some time.

Check their support page and see if they're going to be updating for next gen Ryzen, and if they currently support 4th gen APUs and third gen CPUs.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

If used prices are any good, that is.

How long would it accompany me throughout the years ahead tho?

Depends on the condition of the CPU and how it was used.

And would it be better than getting the R 5 2600?

Depends on the workload/game,i would expect similar performance from both.

No. this board is crap. Better get a Gigabyte, Asrock or even Biostar.

You should wait another month or two, after the Ryzen 5600 sold, the 3600 price will be lowered, and 2600 will be even lower.

Yeah, probably going to change the motherboard. I might just wait for the 5600 to come out later and buy the 2600 for cheaper. Thanks!

Yeah but the news have spread that the Zen 3-based processors would skip 4000 and go straight to 5000... Rumors though. Guess we'll have to wait what AMD will announce soon

They skip the 4000 for desktop cpu. Only Laptop and APU (g series) use 4000 numbering.
So the next gen announced this weekend will be 5000.

Yeah it is wise to do that, i upgraded my 1600 to 2600 for just $10.

Waiting for 5600 so i can upgrade to 3600 for cheap.

Other alternative is 3500 (6 core 6 threads) the price is close to a new 2600.
