So basically what im having is when im in games with highish fps it will disconnect a usb device and reconnect it and disconnect and reconnect and so on. I've somewhat fixed it by downclocking my gpu all the way but that really effects my performance!

Im thinking that it's my psu so I just want to confirm that since I am using a pretty low wattage psu.

Specs are as followed:

GTX 1070 MSI Gaming Z

Intel i5 6600k

Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard

120GB Kingston A400 SSD

1TB Hitachi HDD

16GB DDR4 Ram

450W Corsair VS450 PSU

Main RIG:

Motherboard: Z170 Pro Gaming, GPU: GTX 1070 MSI Gaming Z, CPU: i5 6600k, Memory: 16GB (8GB HyperX Fury DDR4 + 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4), PSU: TX550M 80+ Gold Certified 550W SSD 1: SN850 500GB M.2 NVME SSD 2: Kingston A400 120GB

Can you explain what your graphics card would have to do with a USB device? Are they connected in some way? What kind of a device are we talking about?

I think it may be using too much wattage and causing the power supply to disconnect a usb device to save some power or something like that

What kind of a USB device are we talking about that would need that much power? Could just be a loose connector.

Well I actually have a phone connected as my internet device since it somehow manages to get 3x faster speed than my WiFi card, this is the device that disconnects too.

You may want to check for driver updates for your board, I would probably check for a bios update too just to narrow down where the issue is coming from

I still haven't managed to fix this therefore I still need help.

I'm not completely sure if I need a new power supply so I don't wanna buy one if its unnecessary.
