I would at least wait until the AMD card has been announced, to see what it brings to the table. Chances are the 3080 won't really be in good supply (at a reasonable price) until then anyway.

With all the fiasco, i think you should wait for the Radeon.

If AMD can put the same if not better card than 3080, it will push 3080 pricing at least close to launch price.

That's is the best time to choose.

My solution: I bought an RTX 2060 KO. EVGA gives you 90 days to swap it out for an upgrade with full credit for the initial purchase. I'm guessing (hoping?) that between Nvidia and AMD the supply issues will be sorted by the end of the year. I'll end up paying some shipping fees for the return, but I don't have to worry about my card losing value for 90 days.

Basically, I've got a loaner card until I see the reviews on Navi 21 vs Ampere.

I know a lot of people are saying wait on amd but I can’t buy a video card from them again after the issues I dealt with the 5700xt and my buddies rx580 8gb card.

Getting a evga rtx 2000 series card shipped and sold by amazon or Newegg isn’t a bad idea. Like someone said above enroll in the step up program as soon as you ge the card and they will let you know when you can do the upgrade. Pay the $30 to ship your card back to evga and pay the difference on a 3070 or 3080 card.
