Gigabyte 970A UD3P vs Asus M5A97 R2.0

Which mobo should I get I plan on using a fx 6300 and OC it. Will the Gigabyte mobo be a better board to OC and  is it worth the extra $30?

The Gigabyte 970A UD3P is a good choice but also consider the Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0 if available in your area.

A couple of the low end Asus 970 boards dont have good LLC options and I cant remember which one it is.

I would investigate a number of boards and their bios to see which one has proper LLC options. You need correct LLC to OC correctly.

It's the M5A97 R2.0

Not sure how much more expensive it is but the M5A97 EVO R2.0 is also a good choice.
