hi all,

so recently i found an old sd card i owned, i was like "hey i want to use it for something" so i went and stick it into my pc. but it didn't show up in windows explorer...

though it did show up in disk management, i wanted to format it either via there or diskpart (clean > create partition primary > format fs=fat32 quick) but i couldn't...

then i realized that there was an OS like structure on the sd and i don't remember what i had put on there before, i did manage to recover all 5000 photo's that were on there but i am still not able to format it propperly.

even partition wizzard 12 couldn't format it

anyone know what to do?

oh yeah here is a screenshot with the sd structure (it was marked as lost files (FAT) so hope that it helps)

Maybe write protection enabled (the little slider on the card) or the partition was set to be write protected.

The card could also be bad, that's why it won't allow you to make changes to it.

so the slider is in the off position, i tried aomei partition manager and it said basically this (see screenshot) so i don't remember what or when i used it for... can't i look at it with linux maybe? i've tried so with ubuntu but it can't seem to find it at all

I’ve had LOTS of trouble erasing sd cards with android data before. I eventually gave up trying to save a 64 gb Samsung evo card I had. I would have been more mad if I hadn’t gotten the card for free because I was scammed and Amazon returned my money

I tried in windows disk management. macOS disk utility, and gparted. And some programs on the phone that were supposed to format it to exfat. None of them succeeded so I have a tiny peace of plastic I can’t use n
