i am using a gtx 660.it crashes randomly and sometimes restarts on its own and when i again start the pc i get a notification "display driver stopped responding.using microsoft basic display drivers instead.check windows update for a newer display driver".(when pc crashes i have to shut it down by pressing the power button for 10-20 sec).i opened the msi afterburner and noticed that the base and memory clocks are constantly touching full clocks on idle.i updated the drivers and fixed this issue but my still crashes.i opened the bios and notices that my graphics card is running at pci express 1.0x16.and the slot is 3.0x16.How can i change it from 1.0 to 3.0 and also how cani fix the crashing issue?

Any help will be appreciated

DDU and reinstall drivers. Also re-seat the card before the previous step.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

Have you also re-applied thermal paste as a GTX 660 was released in 2012 and can cause issues due to poor thermal transfer from the die to the cooler's cold plate.

Under BIOS for PCIe Express slots, the motherboard usually sets the speeds to auto so just change it from [Auto] to [3.0x16] or something that appears to be that.
