RTX 3070 release date changed?

Bobbysixjp

Nvidia's website is now showing October 29th as the release date of the 3070. Wasn't it originally supposed to be the 15th?

They probably want to match the AMD announcement to take the limelight away. They didn't know AMD's release date when they said it'd come out on the 15th.

Most people are waiting for the AMD lineup anyway so this is a good thing.

I also thought I saw the 15th before, although I find it hard to get a solid reference to that date now.

We can speculate that it may be to build up further stocks, or they want some more tinkering time to make sure everything will be good for what will be a more mainstream product and affect more people.

Tom's hardware still has it as the 15th.

Perhaps they wanted to avoid the same thing that happened with the 3080 which was basically a paper launch due to low stock levels.

It's been switched. Probably a good thing if they're really talking about stock assortments.
